CAPP supports the BC liberal party and provides funding for the improvement of the fossil fuel sector. In 2015, CAPP provided funding for the research concerning climate change as a part of the BC liberals political platform. CAPP makes contributions to the liberal party that ensure the development of the oil and gas sectors. The political goal of CAPP is to ensure the expansion of he oil and gas industry in a safe and sustainable way. CAPP has been successful under the liberal party but is now facing difficulties with the new NDP government.
